I’ve decided to celebrate the fact that my much anticipated book, Trust Agents, by my friends Julien Smith and Chris Brogan has finally shipped. To celebrate I’d like to share this incredible presentation by Joseph Pine on what consumers want. I’ll give you a hint, it’s authenticity.
In it he reveals three new rules that businesses should follow:
1. Don’t say you’re authentic unless you really are authentic.
2. It’s easier to be authentic if you don’t say you’re authentic.
3. If you say you’re authentic you better be authentic.
Pine concludes that, What will make us happy is spending our time and our money satisfying the desire for authenticity.
What do you think about Pine’s observations?
