Looking For Inspiration For Your Blog?

By | April 28, 2009

I’ve been slacking on my blog, I know it, I’m sorry. It’s not so much slacking as it is distraction. My schedule has been overflowing, both with work and family stuff.

Photo by: heatherA friend of mine recently started her first blog. She was asking me for some advice on getting traffic. Then I remembered some amazing segments on my friend, Nora Young and Dan Misner’s awesome CBC tech podcast, Spark.

During a few weeks Merlin Mann from 43 Folders was a guest. He shared some amazing tips that every blogger (including this one) should use.

Check out the tips and audio here. There’s also some homework for you aspiring and veteran bloggers.

Merlin & Gruber (of Daring Fireball) discussed this at SxSW, too. http://www.43folders.com/2009/03/25/blogs-turbo

    Awesome! Thanks.
I'm always open to suggestions on making this blog better, if you have any.

    Thanks Brad.

No problem, Dave! The biggest takeaway I got from the Mann/Gruber program was essentially “Write about something you're obsessed with. If people tell you to shut up about it, that's what you need to write about.” That, and Gruber loves the New Yorker. That's the level of writing he aspires to for Daring Fireball, if they ran stories about tech.

Great tips from very wise people. Thanks Brad.
