Blogger Loses Home in Fire

By | February 6, 2009

I just read this post on my friend Jeremy’s B5Media blog. If you have any extra coin to chip into help it would be greatly appreciated by the Vernon family.

Early on the morning of January 29th, a fire broke out at the Palestine, Texas home of Cheril Vernon, blogger at b5media. The 3 family members at home were able to escape the fire, but their home was completely destroyed and beloved pets were lost – 2 dogs and 1 cat. The family home was not insured.

The local Red Cross is providing assistance to the family, but we’d like to reach out to you in the blogging community to offer what assistance you can.

Donations can be made to the family via PayPal with the ‘donate’ button below. If you have any physical donations you’d like to make to the family, please contact Angie Alvarado at The Palestine Herald at 903-729-0281.

Cheril Vernon has been a positive force in the b5media community. Her positive attitude and willingness to learn have made her a pleasure to work with. She writes three blogs for b5media: NewToTV.com (twitter), MischaNews.com and GossipGirlReport.com. Cheril is also Community Editor for The Palestine Herald.

You rock, Dave. Thanks for pushing this out there. At the risk of offending someone, the only thing that has been on my mind while pushing this is the verse from the Gospel of Luke: “Give and it will come back to you, good measure pressed down, shaken together and running over.” Karma rules.

I'm happy to help spread the word. Loss from fire is seriously tragic, but when there's children involved it's even worse, not to mention losing pets. I hope they do fine and get through this. The important thing is that they are all ok. I hope the community can chip in to help.

Cheers Aaron, thanks for your comment.
